1.5 Tesla Siemens MRI

Our Fort Myers location has a 1.5 Telsa MRI with a wide bore.

This is a high field MRI. This means that it is more “roomy” and less claustrophobic than a traditional MRI. It has an extra 8 inches on each side of the patient (16 extra inches total) so patients feel more comfortable. This machine will finish most scans in under 12 minutes.

Open GE MRI

Our Fort Myers location also has an Open MRI for patients that cannot fit in our 1.5 Tesla machine or are extremely claustrophobic.

All Open MRI units are considered “low field” and, while the image quality is not as clear as the high field, will still produce an image for the doctor.

Digital-X-Ray

Digital X-Ray

Our Fort Myers location also has a state of the art digital x-ray machine.

It has a very low amount of radiation compared to most other x-ray machines in the area.

Before you get an x-ray with the 20 year old machine at your primary care doctor’s office, ask them to send you to our center instead.

What's the difference between

the 1.5 Tesla MRI and the Open MRI?

The 1.5 Tesla MRI is like watching High Definition TV.

The Open MRI is like watching TV before High Definition.

We recommend all patients try the 1.5 Tesla MRI with the wide bore first.

If they don't fit in the machine or are too claustrophobic then we can still get the MRI done in our Open MRI.

You can watch the show on the Open MRI but your doctor can see much more detail with the 1.5 Tesla MRI.

Breast MRI

Breast MRI, like mammography, requires specialized equipment.

This MRI machine uses a unique gadget called a specialized breast coil to scan the breasts. Not every hospital or imaging institution has dedicated breast MRI equipment. If you are having a breast MRI, it is critical that you go to a facility, like Tesla MRI, that has specialized equipment and can do an MRI-guided breast biopsy if necessary, or that works with one that can.

MRI creates comprehensive cross-sectional images of the body using powerful magnets rather than radiation. An MRI scanner captures images from many perspectives, as if someone were gazing at a slice of your body from the front, side, or above your head. MRI produces images of soft tissue portions of the body that would otherwise be difficult to observe with conventional imaging techniques.

Unlike mammograms and breast ultrasounds, breast MRIs require a contrast dye to be injected into your vein prior to taking the images. This makes any abnormal spots in your breasts easier to detect.

Imaging from a breast MRI is generally used to examine breast tissue for visible symptoms of cancer once a lump or other abnormality is discovered via a routine mammography or ultrasound. It may also be the best screening approach for women at high risk of getting breast cancer. In some circumstances, breast MRI is used to determine the degree of cancer in the breast after a diagnosis, or to determine whether a silicone breast implant is leaking or damaged.

The good thing about these scans is the time it takes to complete the imaging. At Tesla MRI breast MRI’s typically do not take longer than 30 minutes. Which the team will provide you on a CD to be taken to your doctor.

Following your scan:

A professional radiologist will assess your breast MRI pictures and create a report explaining the findings. Your healthcare professional will discuss the results with you, explaining what they signify for your health and any further measures that may be required.

At Tesla MRI, we are dedicated to providing you with excellent treatment and accurate imaging findings. Our cutting-edge equipment and expert team ensure that you receive the finest level of care throughout your breast MRI procedure. So, don’t wait to contact Tesla MRI to schedule a visit for your breast MRI.

DTI

Tesla MRI is happy to provide the most advanced diffusion tensor imaging (DTI) technology with our cutting-edge DTI MRI scanner.

DTI is a groundbreaking magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) technology that enables precise viewing and analysis of the brain’s white matter pathways and connections.

What is Diffusion Tensor Imaging?

Diffusion tensor imaging measures the diffusion patterns of water molecules in the brain’s white matter. By measuring the movement of these molecules, DTI can show the direction and integrity of the white matter fiber bundles that allow communication across various brain areas. This extraordinary degree of detail gives crucial information on neurological diseases, brain growth, and brain connectivity.

Key advantages of Tesla MRI's DTI technology:

Advanced Neurological Diagnostics.

Our DTI scanner is highly effective in detecting anomalies in white matter microstructure, allowing for the early and accurate detection of neurological illnesses such as traumatic brain injury, multiple sclerosis, stroke, and neurodegenerative diseases like Alzheimer’s.

Surgical Planning and Guidance.

Our DTI imaging, which precisely maps the brain’s white matter pathways, is vital in pre-surgical planning for neurosurgical procedures, assisting surgeons in navigating key fiber tracts and minimizing potential damage.

Research

DTI advances neuroscience research by allowing scientists to explore brain connections, plasticity, and the anatomical basis of cognition, behavior, and neurological development in unprecedented depth.

High-Resolution Imaging

Tesla MRI’s DTI scanner uses cutting-edge MRI technology to provide high-resolution, artifact-free pictures that clearly show even the tiniest white matter structures and tracts.

Patient Comfort

Our patient-centric design stresses comfort, with a large, well-ventilated scanner bore and configurable lighting and audio choices to provide a soothing environment during scans.

Tesla MRI is dedicated to offering cutting-edge neuroimaging technologies that stimulate innovation in healthcare and neuroscience. Contact us now to learn more about our DTI MRI capabilities and how we can help with your neurological imaging needs.
